Cyprien Clément-Delmas
Cyprien Clément-Delmas is a French film director, photographer and visual artist.
His first documentary short film THE LAST TAPE premiered at Sheffield Doc/Fest and won the Silver Prize at the German Academy Awards in 2016. For this short, Cyprien followed a 16 years old kid in Ukraine that wanted to become a soldier and go to war.
The story led to his first documentary feature, BOY OF WAR, which premiered at Jilhava Film Festival in 2018 and won several awards including the VFF Documentary Film Production Prize at Dokfest Munich.
Cyprien Clément-Delmas is now finishing his second feature documentary DIOSA following the life of Joan, a Queer icon from Barcelona. Entirely shot in 16mm during three years, the film portrays his quest for identity between masculinity and femininity.
Cyprien has directed several other experimental short doc
umentaries that caught a lot of attention: MY RED SIDE, DAY ONE, LAST DAY, INTRUSION.
As a documentary photographer, Cyprien has documented Johannesburg's second biggest township, Thokoza, for over 6 years. In parallel, he was running workshops for the disadvantaged youth inside this township - a project supported by Rubis Mécénat.
He published his first photo book DALESIDE (Gost Books) in November 2020 portraying an Afrikaner community near Johannesburg. A four year project together with South African photographer Lindokuhle Sobekwa documenting this poor community.
He exhibit for the first time at age 20 and had shows in France, Germany, Spain, Belgium and South Africa. In 2022, he presented his new photography project at Arles festival during La Nuit de l’Année.
Cyprien directed also commercials for many big international brands like Adidas, Samsung, Facebook, Gatorade, RayBan, Puma. He has been awarded in the La Jolla Film festival, BFFF and Cannes for those pieces. Cyprien is represented by some of the best production companies in the world: Caviar, Canada and Phantasm.
